The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly-funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and 'close the gap' between them and their peers. We would encourage all parents and carers to contact us - in confidence - if you think your child may be eligible for additional school funding; this could have a significant impact on their achievement and wellbeing.
In the 2018 to 2019 financial year, schools will receive £1,320 for pupils in Reception year to Year 6 if they have been registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years.
Schools will also receive £2,300 for each pupil who has left local-authority care because of one of the following:
•a special guardianship order
•a child arrangements order
•a residence order
If a pupil has been registered as eligible for free school meals and has also left local-authority care for any of the reasons above, they will attract the £1,900 rate. Children who have been in local-authority care for one day or more also attract £1,900 of Pupil Premium funding.
