Welcome to Class 2’s class page!
We hope you find this useful and informative.
In Class 1 and Class 2, we have been learning about Christmas and the story of how Jesus was born. As we couldn’t put on our usual Christmas performance this year, we decided to film our nativity for our families to share at home. We worked really hard to learn our lines and our songs, and looked amazing in our costumes! We really hope our families enjoy watching.
We had lots of fun decorating the big Christmas tree in school’s reception area, and our tree in Class 2.
We have been enjoying lots of Christmas craft, such as calendars, clay star ornaments for our Christmas trees and Christmas cards.
We have been very fortunate this year, to have a brand new Early Excellence shed full of amazing resources to use in our outside play.
We have been learning how to use the different resources and exploring how we can develop our play further.
Miss Bullimore has been very impressed with how well we are using the new equipment, and with how much care we are taking when tidying them away.
One of our favourite resources to use has been the den building equipment. We have shown high levels of resilience when building dens, and we have learnt to adapt our methods when things haven’t quite gone to plan!
Our Advent topic in RE was ‘Birthdays’. We learnt the importance of birthdays and why we celebrate them.
It was a very exciting time in Foundation, as we discovered it was Teddy’s birthday! We planned an exciting birthday party for him with balloons, decorations, music, games and even cake! We had a fantastic afternoon, and so did Teddy!
We made a chart on the wall to show when all of our birthdays are in class, to make sure we always remember.
We then learnt about a very special person’s birthday. We learnt that Jesus was born on Christmas Day. We explored the different ways people wait and get ready for Jesus’ birthday, and made Advent promises to show how we will make a difference this Advent.

The stories we will be focusing on this term will be ‘How to Catch a Star’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.
We are becoming more confident when planning and delivering our own child-led liturgies with Miss Bullimore.
